Trish and Bryan -- married October 10, 2010.

A fun-loving couple, Trish and Bryan were very laid back and easy to please. From the onset, Trish and Bryan knew that outdoor photos were going to be important so they ultimately decided to rent a limo and spend a few hours on the town, with their favorite wedding photographer ;). It was an awesome time and we all had fun! Here's a small sample our day together. As you can see, I've evolved my post-production style to include a much more liberal dose of Photoshop. Adam & Amanda's wedding

Adam and Amanda had a small, quiet celebration at a little country church.

Both bride and groom were fun-loving, friendly and charming. I haven't had this much fun in a long time!

Jason and Angela's Wedding

Jason and Angela were married on September 9 and we all had a blast! Both bride and groom were great fun, very easy going and relaxed. When we first met, Angela was adamant about a "no-muss, no-fuss" wedding and that's exactly how it went down!

Noemy and Ulises' wedding

OK guys, after several weekends of weddings, it's about time I put some of my work online. My business, family and social network is demanding this, so I better do something now or the natives may grow restless ;)!

This blog is dedicated to my clients and friends, Noemy and Ulises, at their September wedding in Lebanon, IN.

WOW, it's turning into a busy year - I got another 5 weddings since my last post! Thanks for your support and your encouragement!

By the way, the photos you now see on the homepage are placeholders for better pics. Since Dreamline Imagery of Lafayette has a new look/feel, I thought I'd wait until I made the upgrade before I posted new pics. The problem - indecisiveness. I can't decide which of my Lafayette, Indiana wedding photography to post. I also have Chicago and Indianapolis wedding photography as well.

Another day done and one more closer to Spring! I don't know about you, but I'm tired of cold weather. I know - quit griping, right? :)

Anyway, just a note to let you know that Dreamline Imagery's site has evolved once again. After much research, I've decided to partner with SmugMug. This not only makes your online viewing and ordering experience, quick, easy and professional, it makes it quick and painless for me too. This frees up time to do other things, like shoot photos and talk to customers, which helps keep costs down. My goal is to have your wedding uploaded no more than 1 week after your event.

One note to my customers - I removed the calendar link, so if you're booked for 2009, don't worry - you're still booked. The homepage looked really busy and I decided to remove a few links. Not to mention, I'd prefer a potential customer to call me directly as cancellations do occur and I'd hate to lose a possible customer to assumption.

As you can see, I've updated the Dreamline Imagery website. New is our online storefront. Prints of all sizes and other products will soon be available. I'm narrowing down my choices on whom I'll be using exclusively. The final contingency is keeping prices as low as possible.

Just had a really bizarre experience with a potential customer. A couple days ago, they were really interested and ready to sign up - so they said. I got my presentation and sales materials prepared, and then, this morning, out of the blue, cold as a cucumber, this client calls and says they're no longer interested in Dreamline - no explanation, just hello and goodbye. I started to wonder - "did I do something wrong?" I mean, I never got the chance to even meet with them.

This leads me to write this blog about rejection.

Rejection is, I suppose, something we can't do anything about - either personally or professionally. While you can do your best to share your passion with potential clients, the final decision on who they're going to use as their photographer is theirs and ultimately they're going to do what they want.

In business, the question is what leads them or detracts them from doing business with you and in this case, since I had no interaction with the potential client, I can only assume they went with the competition or decided to have a friend do it (shudder). I was dealing directly with the groom, and let's face it, most of the time, the bride makes the decision.

Yes, I've been blown off before; this isn't the first time, no. But the competitive spirit in me wants a level playing field, which isn't always realistic. Even when I work directly with the bride at times her parents, his parents, other parties involved, factor into a direction going solidly one way one moment, and then without warning, a 180-degree reversal the next.

So in thinking it through logically, while my marketing plan is solid , I think I'm doing the right thing from a business standpoint. My price/value offerings are the best around, my focus is on the client - how can I do the best possible job for the fees I charge? I do professional work; I streamline my workflow; I make myself 110% available to the client and always am open to their ideas and desires in the final product - what more can I do?

The answer - I can't. I face the fact that as hard as I try, I'm not going to get all the business that's out there and sometimes the brass ring is going to elude me.

I'm just going to pick myself up, dust myself off and move on.

That was theraputic! I feel better now :)

Good evening, world!

I'm getting a lot more attention to my business and I thought I'd better post the dates I have booked. Here's the low-down for 2009; I'm booked on: March 28; April 4; May 30; June 13; June 20; July 5; July 19; July 25. August through the remainder of the year is wide open, though I am meeting with a client Saturday, for a November 21 event. Still, there are plenty of dates open and if I'm booked, I have a ton of friends in this industry who are available.

I'm looking forward to spring. Saturday, it's supposed to be 54 degrees - WOOHOO! Yes, it's supposed to rain on that day, but who cares!

Just posted my new prices for '09. Remember, I'm a photographer in Lafayette and West Lafayette, Indiana; Indianapolis; Fort Wayne, South Bend, Chicago, Northern Indiana and Illinois; heck, I'm available in the entire Midwest, so keep that in mind, if you would, when you need a quality photographer.

I'm also pleased to announce the addition of a partner to Dreamline Imagery, who also happens to be MY partner, my wife. Brenda Schueler is formally now on board as a second shooter and assistant. Welcome, my lovely!

I still have yet to migrate my pics over to their respective galleries, but that's on the list of things to do.

While I have a limited calendar for 2008, please keep me in mind for your 2009 events.

PLEASE don't be scared away by the fact that I don't have my prices posted. I can tell you that my rates are VERY competitive and are attractive to both budget-conscious and quality/value-focused as well.

Today's brides vary from simply wanting their wedding day photos on just a DVD to be printed at their discretion, to having Dreamline Imagery provide multiple sizes and quantities of prints along with table-top minis and keepsake albums or more. Rather than clutter up a web page with all the options, simply call me and we can go over your needs personally and specifically.

Hello and welcome to the "maiden voyage" of Dreamline Imagery.

I'm Bob Schueler and I'm the owner of Dreamline Imagery, a full-service photography studio, DEDICATED to awesome photography at very reasonable rates! I'm based out of Brookston and Lafayette, Indiana - home to Purdue University and the Boilermakers!

Allow me to share with you my passion: First off, I'm a visually-oriented person. I never did exceptionally well in school, as when I was in school, teaching was mostly auditory and I'm good for about 15 minutes of auditory monologue, and then I drift. I don't really consider it ADD or ADHD, because I like to learn, it's just that visual learners weren't really taken seriously until recently.

Anyway, being visually oriented, I decided, several years ago, that I wanted to get into photography. I shot and developed my first photograph back in 1975 at a YMCA summer camp and the rest is history.

After spending several years in corporate America and burning out on it, I decided in 2003 that I wanted to do this full-time. I bought my first digital camera in 1999 and have been building up my equipment repertoire ever since. I specialize in Weddings and have shot them in the Midwest, but also do destination packages as well. Please see my website for a more elaborate gallery of wedding photos.

If you hire me, what you're getting is someone who's part of YOUR team. My goal is to shoot pictures, yes, but also in a manner that's comfortable, fun and memorable for you.
